New ZEM headphones deliver pure sound exactly as recorded

New ZEM headphones deliver pure sound exactly as recorded

Patented acoustic technology also cancels out background noises

Rochester, N.Y. — Revolutionary new ZEM headphones use just a simple amplifier to produce pure sound in the earpieces, unchanged by electronics. They simultaneously cancel background noise using patented technology invented at Syracuse University by renowned acoustic researcher, Dr. Jozef Zwislocki.

The result is pure, unaltered sound that feels as if you’re in the recording studio. The absence of complex electronics also lowers cost and produces a headset weight of just two ounces. The compact unit can be folded to fit easily in a shirt pocket or ZEM case. No batteries are needed.

“Professional studio musicians who have tried ZEM headphones for recording sessions have ordered more of them,” said Gregory Post, President of SensGard LLC, the manufacturer. “ZEM headsets eliminate distorting electronic effects, leaving only the true sound created by musicians or speakers.”

The headphones are ideal for airplane passengers and anyone who wants to hear studio-quality stereo sound without the distraction of background noises. The noise cancellation feature of the phones is non-electronic and so effective that users can turn down the volume and still hear clearly.

The physics-based sound filter invented by Dr. Zwislocki reduces noise at both low- and high-frequency ranges, lowering noise levels by up to 37 decibels.

The only electronics in the headphones are two miniature electro-magnetic receivers that convert electrical signals into sound. They are, in effect, tiny electro-mechanical amplifiers. The 3.5 mm plug on the electrical cord is compatible with MP3 players, CD players, cell phones, iPods, laptops, satellite radio and home computers.

The headset fits comfortably into the outer ear and stays in place even while exercising or moving about. The headphones are so comfortable it is easy to forget they are on. The headband that connects the two earpieces adjusts easily for fit.

Prices of some typical premium headphones start at $349.00. ZEM headphones are available at $90.00. All ZEM products are made in the USA.

posted Feb 13, 2009, 10:55 AM by Website Admin   [ updated Feb 13, 2009, 10:58 AM ]

Rochester, NY - New ZEMs by SensGard provide maximum hearing protection combined with comfort, low cost and convenience. ZEMs are ideal for homeowners operating lawnmowers, leaf blowers, chain saws and other noisy equipment, as well as motorcycle and ATV enthusiasts, hunters, target and skeet shooters, woodworkers and other hobbyists.

ZEMs incorporate patented technology that uses the mechanical energy of sound waves instead of electronics to minimize sound before it reaches the ears. The devices offer many benefits over ear muffs, ear plugs and ear bands:

  • ZEMs provide superior, consistent protection without distortion across all frequencies. The wearer is fully protected from harmful noise but can still discern speech and other important ambient sounds.
  • Glasses and safety goggles will not compromise the fit or performance of ZEMs.
  • ZEMs weigh less than 2 ounces and are comfortable to wear, even in hot, humid weather.
  • ZEMs require no batteries or expensive battery replacement.
  • ZEMs are simple and easy to adjust to the wearer's head size.
  • When not in use, ZEMS fold up to store in a pocket or drawer.

ZEMs have been awarded a Field Tested Seal of Approval by the North American Hunting Club and a Garage Tested Seal of Approval by the National Street Machine Club, America's fastest growing club of street machine enthusiasts.
